A kids friendly restaurant in JBR: Masha and the bear

I'm always on the hunt for budget friendly activities with the kids, and restaurants and cafes with play areas are on top of my list!

Yesterday we spent a few hours in JBR, taking the opportunity to visit Masha and The Bear which is part of The Beach complex.

I'm not sure if this restaurant should be called "kids friendly" or rather a "restaurant for kids"! The decor is centered around the characters of Masha and the bear - much to the joy of my children. There is even porridge on the breakfast menu!

We went for lunch and the little playground kept them busy for a while. It's not big but a safe space to let them climb and jump around!

The menu is varied and international, and can be seen here. While prices are on the higher end for a kids' place, there are also a few budget options. My sons shared a portion of fries for 25 dhs which was more than enough for 2...

...and I had the grilled vegetables and halloumi salad for 35 dhs.

Things started to get tricky once they got their eyes on the cake display! 😆

On the other side of the restaurant is a retail area...

...where they also hold workshops such as cupcake decorating for example.

All in all my kids were delighted with the visit! Parking is free for bills 100 dhs and above which is why I would recommend going for a meal to let your kids play, unless you prefer parking for free at Bluewaters and walking over via the pedestrian bridge. The parking stamp is valid for 3 hours which makes a great opportunity to combine the restaurant visit with the playground or even a swim on the beach nearby.
